Intellectual Property
CardioVax enjoys a strong intellectual property position rooted in discoveries made at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA and Lund University Hospital, Malmö, Sweden. Our intellectual property rights consist of a combination of proprietary know-how, patents, and patent applications that are licensed to or owned by the company. The patents fall into three categories: composition of matter, methods of manufacturing and certain specific formulations, and methods of use. CardioVax has research agreements with Drs. Shah and Nilsson which provide for exclusive access to their discoveries as well as any improvements made to the already licensed properties. Recent filings currently under review, plus international corollary filings will, upon approval, provide up to 20 years of patent protection.
